Zakat
Find out in two steps whether Zakat is due and how much to pay — according to Hanafi fiqh.
Step 1 · Zakatable assets
Enter the approximate value of your assets in taka. Leave blank what you don’t have.
Zakat year
Select the calendar you use to count your zakat year. A rate of 2.5% applies for a Hijri year and 2.577% for a Gregorian year.
Select your set zakat date. This date does not choose the market rate for the nisab; the nisab is always taken from the latest published current rate.
Gold and silver
Approximate sale value of all your gold, including jewellery.
If you own only gold (no cash, silver or trade goods at all), the Hanafi nisab is 7.5 bhori of gold — enter the weight for that calculation. If you calculate using the link above, the weight is filled in automatically.
Approximate sale value of all your silver, including jewellery.
Cash and bank
Cash kept for any purpose.
If you have any, enter its value converted to Taka.
Only your principal deposit, excluding interest.
Savings certificates, bonds, debentures, treasury bills — actual purchase price.
Premiums/instalments paid into refundable insurance policies.
Only the portion you saved voluntarily — not the mandatory portion.
Receivables and deposits
Money owed to you by others, if it is likely to be repaid.
Money kept with someone as a trust (amanah).
Refundable security money paid as a tenant.
Any other refundable deposit apart from rent.
Business assets
Money in the bank/drawer/cabinet — if not already added above.
Outstanding price of goods sold on credit.
Wholesale sale value of goods/raw materials in stock.
Sale value of land/plots/flats/vehicles bought to resell at a profit.

Step 2 · Deductible liabilities
Enter only the portion payable within the next 1 year — not the whole outstanding debt. If you have no debts, leave everything blank and calculate directly.
Portion payable within the next 1 year of loans taken for medical or household needs.
Portion payable within the next 1 year of loans taken to buy zakatable assets.
Portion payable within the next 1 year for goods/services bought on instalments or credit.
The portion you firmly intend to pay within the next 1 year.
Amounts due before the hawl completes.
Tax, house/shop rent, electricity/gas/phone bills — the portion due before the hawl completes.
If zakat for any earlier year has not yet been paid.
Zakat result
Your only zakatable asset is gold. In the Hanafi view, the nisab in this case is 7.5 bhori of gold — if your gold is less than 7.5 bhori, zakat is not due. For an accurate result, enter "Total weight of gold (bhori)" in step 1.
