1. What we do not collect
The Inheritance Calculator is an entirely client-side calculation tool. This means that when you enter the number of heirs, the amount of land, sums of money, debts, a bequest, or the names of the deceased and the heirs, that information stays inside your phone or computer.
- This information is not sent to any server.
- It is not stored in any database.
- We never see it.
- It is never given or sold to any third party.
You can even disconnect from the internet and keep calculating with the page open — it still works. That shows no data needs to leave your device for the calculation.
Calculation link: When you press "Copy calculation link" below the result, the number of heirs and the asset amounts are written into the last # part of the link — never any names. This part of a link is not sent to the server; the calculation happens in the browser of whoever opens it, and the part is removed from the address once opened. But the person you send the link to will see those numbers — so be careful who you send it to.
2. What is stored in your browser
For convenience, a very small amount of information is kept in your own browser's local storage :
- Your light/dark theme preference.
- The names and page addresses of up to 5 tools, to show "Recent tools" on the Tools page.
- Only if you press “Save this calculation” in the main calculator: the numbers of heirs, asset amounts and deductions of that calculation — up to 10 calculations. No names are stored; you can delete them one by one or all at once from the “Saved calculations” list.
Names you type are never stored. And unless you save a calculation yourself, land amounts, money amounts, debts, dower, bequests and results are not kept in local storage. Older versions could keep the main calculator's last input and short summaries of tool results in the browser; the current version automatically deletes that old tool list and also the main calculator's old saved calculation.
This local storage data is not a cookie and is not sent to us. You can clear the "Recent tools" list from the Tools page. To delete all local data, clear this site's data in your browser settings. A calculator's "Reset" button only clears that page's current input.
3. Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. As with any website, ordinary server logs are kept for technical and security purposes — such as IP address, browser type, which page was viewed and when. These logs are created automatically; we do not match them to any person, and they have nothing to do with your calculation data.
4. Outside services we use
- Cloudflare Web Analytics: Cloudflare's visitor counting is used to see how often each page is viewed. It uses no cookies, does not identify you individually and sends none of your calculation data — only aggregate figures such as total visits, page name, country, device type and page load speed are counted.
- Google Play: If you click the mobile app link, you go to Google's own page, where Google's own policy applies.
5. Advertising and cookies
Google AdSense ads are shown on some pages of this site. About this —
- Google and its partners may use cookies to show relevant ads.
- Google's DoubleClick DART cookie lets it show ads based on a user's earlier visits.
- If you wish, you can turn off personalised ads in Google Ad Settings .
- None of your calculation data will ever be used for advertising either — it never leaves your browser.
6. Children's information
This site is for general readers, and no personal information is knowingly collected from children.
7. Your rights
Since we keep none of your personal information, there is nothing with us to ask us to delete. Data on your device is entirely under your control — clearing your browser data removes it.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when needed. If it changes, the "Last updated" date above will change.
