Share (hissa) converter

How share conversion works

In a khatian, a deed or a Faraid calculation, the same share can be written in different forms — as a fraction (3/16), a percentage (18.75%) or a decimal (0.1875). All three mean the same amount. This tool turns any one form into the other two, so shares from different papers can be compared side by side.

How to use it

1. Enter a fraction, percentage or decimal in the share field. Both Bangla and English digits work.
2. Press “Convert”, or pick one of the quick buttons above (1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16).
3. The result shows the percentage, the fraction in lowest terms and the decimal together.

Conversion rules

• Fraction to decimal: divide the numerator by the denominator — 3 ÷ 16 = 0.1875.
• Decimal to percentage: multiply by 100 — 0.1875 × 100 = 18.75%.
• Percentage to fraction: divide by 100 and reduce to lowest terms — 12.5% = 12.5/100 = 1/8.

An example

In Faraid, a wife's share when there are children is 1/8 — that is 12.5% or 0.125. A mother's share of 1/6 is about 16.6667%. A 1/6 share of 10 decimals of land is about 1.6667 decimals. To calculate with the land area, use the land share calculator.
