Land division among co-owners

Enter each person's share as a fraction (1/8), a percentage (12.5%) or in anna (2 anna) — or simply as a ratio (2, 1, 1). Ratios need not add up to 1. But do not mix ratios with fractions/percentages/anna in the same calculation.

How land is divided among co-owners

When a plot has several owners — heirs, partners or joint buyers — each person's portion is set by their share or ratio. This tool takes everyone's name and share and builds the full division list at once, which you can print for partition discussions.

How to use it

  1. Enter the total land and unit.
  2. In each row enter a co-owner's name and share; for more people press “Add another person”.
  3. Press “Divide” to see everyone's percentage and land in one list.

An example

33 decimals are divided among two sons and a daughter in the ratio 2 : 2 : 1. Total parts 2 + 2 + 1 = 5. Each son gets 33 × 2 ÷ 5 = 13.2 decimals and the daughter gets 33 × 1 ÷ 5 = 6.6 decimals. The three add up to exactly 33 decimals.

Keep in mind

  • Work out the Faraid shares first: find who gets how much in the Faraid calculator, then enter those shares here.
  • Names are not stored: the names are only for the list and printout; they are not saved anywhere.
  • Division on paper is not division on the ground: even equal areas can differ in value because of road or water access — settle that together.

To end joint ownership, a partition deed must be executed and mutation (namjari) done. Until then, on paper everyone remains owner of an undivided share. This tool's calculation is for understanding only.
